Our Budget Kitchen Renovation

It seems my husband & I are always making changes & renovations.  It has been 19 years since we moved in my husbands grandparents home & renovated it. It is an older home made in the early 60’s, so it really needed some changes then.

There are some changes & upgrades that was needed for our kitchen since then.  First of all, we got rid of the Sunflower border & checker board floors!  I don’t know what I was thinking then, but at the time I thought it looked great! Lol! Now we have Vinyl Wood floors that match the rest of our house! We could not have gotten the renovation done as good and quickly if our son Matthew wasn’t there to help!!! He was such a blessing with our renovation!!!

We also had a kitchen computer desk, that was never finished.  It just seemed to be a catch all.  Evertime we had company, that always seemed to be such a job to clean up just to make space for food dishes, chips and dip.  We replaced that catch all area with 2 gas ranges! Now we both can cook and not get in each others way! I Love it!

We also moved our refrigerator where the wall oven was.  I can’t believe how much room that move made! We plan on putting a wine rack in the arch next to the refrigerator.

The back splash needed upgrading too, so we covered it with decorative stainless steel tin.

I saw some cafΓ© curtains that I loved on Pinterest. I had to make them.

We have been planning this dream kitchen for about a year.  We started renovating from Thanksgiving to New Years.  We now have a beautiful new kitchen for 2016 under $3000.00!  Our next plans are to make a farmhouse table and paint my china cabinet in an antique white. Check back for updates!
